If you’ve spent any time around Downtown Cary Park lately, you already know the routine:
“Grab something cold to drink. Wander around. Find a shady spot. Watch the dogs. Maybe decide you’re not quite ready to head home yet.“
When writer Dathan Kazsuk recently visited us for Midtown Magazine, he captured the exact vibe father-and-son duo Drew and Robbie Schenck set out to create inside the historic Pasmore House.
Honestly, our location might explain Vino & Tap better than any wine list could!
“We Have a $70 Million Backyard”
That’s how Drew puts it—and it’s true! Downtown Cary Park essentially spills out right behind our garden patio located at 307 S. Academy Street.
As Dathan pointed out in his feature:
“This isn’t really designed as the kind of wine bar where you whisper about tannins for two hours while somebody nearby swirls a glass like they’re trying to summon a spirit.”
You can certainly get serious about boutique wine here, but we’re also built for the person who wants a glass of bubbly, a great craft beer on tap, or a refreshing cocktail before taking another lap through the park.
“My son and I wanted to do something together,” Drew shared with Midtown Magazine. When they saw the location, the idea immediately clicked: “Champagne on the park is just a beautiful thing.“
Drinks Built for the Social District
Every sip we pour is served for exploring. Our creative cocktails made with wine-based ingredients are fit for a stroll through Downtown Cary’s social district.
Dathan gave that unique menu a test drive during his visit:
“I tried several of the cocktails while talking with the Schencks, and that lighter style makes sense here. These aren’t drinks that make you feel like you should immediately find a couch and cancel the rest of the afternoon. They fit a place where the next stop might simply be 50 feet away in the park.”
From our Basil Smash to our tropical, Caribbean-inspired pours and our French 74 (our wine-based spin on the classic French 75), the menu is designed to keep things light, fun, and easygoing.
